A most enjoyable evening was held in Umborne Hall for our annual Autumn Supper on Saturday and 50 locals decided to come and support this event for which we are very grateful. The banquet on the tables organised by Eleanor and the trustees, consisted of 2 different superb tasting soups from Neville’s kitchen, a box of autumn produce -2 types of bread, 4 different cheeses, 2 sorts of pates, potato salad, tomatoes, home made chutney, coleslaw etc. – all much appreciated by everyone. For dessert there were 10 trays of home made apple crumble – wonderful. The table quiz on the autumn theme was won by Henry’s table – the prize was generously donated to the raffle ( possibly because everyone was full up – too full for chocolate (is that possible?). The autumn photo competition ( 22 photos this year) judged by Rob (charming as ever on the PA!) & Fran was won by Eleanor.
Antonia sold lots of raffle tickets and made an amazing £140 profit and the Irish bingo was won by Alex. Thank you to all who set up what was a very atmospheric, cosy hall, along with those who helped serve, clear and wash up and Phil for running the bar which made £83. We undercharged (£10) for this event this year ( by mistake!) as we had put the price up last year to £12! what a bargain you all had. It would appear that the total sum raised for the hall funds was about £460. Thank you one and all.
