Rob Summers reports: Who needs a celebrity Chef? 70 people attended the hall on the evening of Friday 7th of April and received a fantastic meal prepared by our own Trustee Carolyn, and served by Georgie & Mimi. A mixture of regular and new faces spawned a high volume of conversation resulting in new friendships made and others cemented with a wonderful atmosphere throughout the building.

It was also a super way to say thank you to our retiring posty from Shute -Terry with his wife Jan. He was presented with bottles, cards and other envelopes as a thank you from us for his “over and above” service to the community over the last 9 years.

Thanks again to all who attended this brilliant evening. Thank you for your generosity towards the waitresses, boy did they earn their money washing up all those glasses covered in that sticky chocolate! It just goes to show why we need better facilities in the kitchen which we hope to provide in the new extension. Well done Carolyn for you amazing food.

It would appear that a profit of about £900 was made for our hall extension funds. The profit from the evening just about covers a new commercial dishwasher!! Talk about creating a rod for your own back, it was so successful that we demand that Carolyn does it again some time.

Thank you – Rob, Chairman of Trustees.
