This event organised by Ella Sweetland and her team of helpers took place in Shute Church on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of October 2016.
Ella writes:
“On behalf of friends of Shute Church, I would like to thank everyone who supported the history weekend. We hope you agree that it was a marvellous weekend which brought all the community together and encouraged old friends to come and visit us again.
In addition we are delighted to announce that we raised £1,154.55p.
We will be having meetings in the future so please come along – it’s your community so please have your say, it’s not always about making money but it does make it all worth while when we do!
My telephone no. is 01297 553357 or email ella.fernleigh@gmail.com if you have any ideas or if you would like to make a cake or help with teas or just like to know when we’ve got a meeting.
Thank you – Ella”
The amount of historical information in the form of documents, photos, articles etc. – diplayed around the whole church was staggering and the numbers of visitors on both days was pleasingly high. The catering team provided about 6 hours of hot drinks and cakes on both days. Thank you to all the cake makers as well.
