Umborne Hall trustees meeting 26.1.16

  1. Minutes of previous meeting (16th December 2015)

These were agreed, and were signed off.

3.  Matters arising from previous minutes

Carolyn to check whether we still need to pay for PRS (for playing and performing music), as we are a registered charity.


  1. Treasurer’s update

Figures have been prepared for the AGM, John Buse is auditing them for us, however not quite ready to sign off yet. Figures in accounts at year end just over £17,000. Currently there are 2 cheques to pay in, and approx. £840 due for insurance.

  1. Other matters for the AGM

Eleanor ran through events planned for the next few months:

Mar/Apr – theme night (school dinners)

13th March – Grizzly marshalling

21st May – the hall will be used for the Tom Scrivens charity event and barbecue

28th May – Umborne Ug

Nigel Birt – may do a fish demonstration, date TBA

Pie and pudding evening – date TBA

Free Fridays – March, June, Sept, Dec – dates TBA

Carl Coman has agreed to stand as a new trustee, and David Vickers has agreed to help and stand in for Phillip Ambler if needed during the year.

  1. AOB

PA system – we have asked Carol Miltenburg to add to her bid for equipment, we have not heard yet whether this has been successful.

Hot water/dishwasher – this was discussed as it is difficult when washing up after hall events. It was decided that when the extension is done we need to review this to enable a better hot water system and a ‘quick wash’ dishwasher to be purchased.

Ladies toilet – has a dripping cistern, John Pearce agreed to have a look and try to fix
