On Saturday 5th of July, the Gosling family opened up their amazing garden at Penventon in Shute to hold the annual Steam-Up event.
Yet again the weather was kind despite some rain the previous day and the many visitors enjoyed the rides on Tony’s miniature steam train and relished the delights of Liz’s cream teas.
There was also a raffle ( thanks for doing that Ella) and a cake stall ( well done Angela for selling them all) and an ice-cream lady (thanks again Sue). The magnigifcent sum of £411 was raised for Umborne Hall funds.
Thank you Liz for getting your garden to a state of perfection and for organising your team of helpers and bakers for the cream teas and cakes. And who could forget Tony – try as we might! – for his enthusiasm for his train and other vehicles of which he is justifiably proud.
