This year’s annual theme night took place at Umborne Hall on Saturday 23rd March at 7.30pm and the theme this year was una noche espanola – a Spanish Night.
Tickets cost £8 for adults and only £5 for teenagers. For this we got an amazing 3-course meal of tortilla, paella (chicken or veg.) and creme caramel. Our huge thanks to Eleanor and Neville for masterminding this feat and all those other cooks who contributed really tasty dishes – thank you.
There was a bar ( the San Miguels were very popular!),
a raffle which raised the fantastic sum of £114 (well done Antonia and thank you to those who brought prizes with them).
John and Rob organised a ring the bull’s nose game, which was won by Paul Tolchard with his steady eye and hand.
We were encouraged to dress up “a la espanola”, and most people did. John, Sue and Taff won the 3 best dressed people’s prizes.
The table quiz out of 43 was won by the Blackwoods’ table – well done those 4 Shute Stables people. They also won the picture quiz along with the Wilson table – some really high scores here as well.
It looks like a profit of just under £400 was made for the hall funds. Thank you to all those Shute Vale / Umborne friends who supported us yet again and hopefully enjoyed themselves.
