First of all a couple of warnings to residents:
This from Dawn at Shute Marsh:
Thought you might like to send the word round the valley that the garden shed thieves are back. They broke off the locks on two of our sheds last night and got away with a few things. John Hewson found his jet washer at the bottom of their garden this morning. For whatever reason they left it behind, thank goodness. We THOUGHT we were pretty well protected but the heavy duty locks didn’t seem to cause them any problem. We were told that they might be back having had a good haul last time! Thought the valley might like to know.
This from Devon & Cornwall Police:
Please be aware that buying items from people who call at your door often proves to be expensive. If someone calls at your door, just say no and close the door. Do not allow anyone into your property you do not know. If you have any concerns regarding the tactics used by cold callers, please call us on the 08452 777 444 number and give us their details. Thank you
Allotments
Quite a few people who returned their Parish Plan questionnaires several months ago, mentioned that they would be interested in having an allotment in the Parish. If you are interested, would you please let the Parish Clerk, Mary Thomas, know in writing as soon as possible:
Mrs M. Thomas, Boarscroft, Shute, Axminster, EX13 7PT
As there are quite a few residents who are not in this email list, perhaps you would be so kind as to spread the word around.
Race Night
This new event last Saturday proved to be a very enjoyable one at the hall. With takings from the bar, ticket sales and other donations from people who were unable to attend but who wanted to support the cause, the sale of horses and the tote income, the magnificent sum of £725 was raised for Help for Heroes. We really appreciate the support from families in the valley and Axe Valley Runners. Well done!
