Hire the Hall! – In the old hall, it was an experience you never forgot! The new hall, hopefully opening in September, will be a wonderful experience with its superb new facilities.

You can hire the whole Hall including tables, chairs, crockery etc., or just hire the car park if that meets your needs. We even allow the hire of tables and chairs and so on to be taken away from the Hall to be used at your own event. Of course there are various conditions of hire which are further explained here. Rosemary Hewson is our bookings secretary and she really is the best person to help you – her contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Before hiring, a schedule of Conditions of Hire must be obtained from here, the bookings secretary, or, secretary and signed and returned with the correct fee.

A deposit (returnable upon satisfactory return of all hired items) will be required where hired items are removed to another place for whatever use has been agreed. Cheques must be made payable to The Umborne Institute.

In the event of damage to the hall premises or breakage or loss of hired items, the cost of replacement or repair will be fully met by the hirer. The hall must be vacated and secured no later than 2300 hours.

For the use of hall, car park and all facilities including the kitchen we charge £15 for 4 hours or less, £20 for 4-6 hours, or, £25 for the whole day. If you just want to use the car park then it’s £5 for 4 hours, £7.50 for 4-6 hours, or, £10 for the whole day. Variable prices are available for regular users of the hall.

The cost of electric lighting is included in the hire charge. For heating and power, put £1 coins in the meter. The hirer is responsible for all necessary insurance covering events at the hall. The trustees cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage or harm to persons or to the property of those attending an event.

Off-site Hire Charges (per 24 hours). Tables £5 each, Padded chairs £2 each. A deposit of £100 will be paid (these items are for use indoors only). Plastic chairs £1 each. A deposit of £50 will be paid. Wine glasses £15, Cutlery, cups and saucers, plates and bowls, all £10. A deposit of £50 will be paid.
