This annual event held at Penventon in Shute

– the home of Tony & Liz Gosling is usually held in fine weather. This year we were treated to the sunniest and hottest ones of recent years.

Our numbers were slightly down this year partly because there were lots of other events taking place on the same day but also because, as it was the sunniest and hottest Saturday of the year so far, many families decided to head down to the coast. Even so £150 was taken on the gate.

However the magnificent sum of £447 was raised for Umborne Hall funds.

Tony’s miniature steam train worked hard for about 3 hours as of course did Tony and his willing helpers.

Liz’s team busied themselves with delicious cream teas and the ice cream stall was also popular. Between them, they raised over £140.

The raffle was very well supported – and £112 was raised -thanks for your help here Maggie. There was a cake and plant stall as well raising over £45.

– all in the impressive surroundings of an immaculately kept garden.

In total the magnificent sum of £447 was raised for Umborne Hall funds.

Thanks to all those, especially the Umborne Trustees who helped make this event so special. Weary souls were lifted by Tony’s liquid support:
