June weather

4 July 2010 38 views No Comment

Here are some weather figures for June 2010.           It will be no surprise to know that June 2010 was the warmest June for four years, but possibly the sunniest for much longer than that.  And with only six days with measurable rain, June continued the trend of the last three months for drier than average conditions. Thanks to one hefty fall of 33.5 mm (1.3 inches) on the 7th. the monthly total, at 42.2mm was 10mm more than it was in 2006, when coincidentally rain fell on 6 days and there was one heavy fall of 26.7, this time towards the end of the month.           The highest temperature of 27.0 occured on 27th. not quite as warm as the highest last year which occured at the beginning of the month, and also not as warm as this year’s May 21st. when we managed 27.2. A chilly 2.5 on the 20th. keeps us constantly aware of how cold our rural valley can get at any time of year.                 Peter (Pottlelake)Incidentally, if anyone else has anything they would like to say about the local weather etc. then please do get in touch.
